Pilates Equipment Workshop

Experience why Pilates is so effective! Equipment Essentials will give you the tools to condition your body and move better at any age. Whether you’re just starting Pilates or want to freshen up your skills, this workshop is a safe, effective and energizing way to do it! Equipment Essentials will teach you the fundamentals and essential Pilates exercises, on the Mat, Reformer, Wall Unit and Chair.  You’ll increase your awareness and ability, with a noticeable carry-over into how you approach your everyday life. This workshop is a great prep for students interested in joining an ongoing Pilates equipment group.

Pilates group equipment at Center of Balance

Feel energized with an ongoing Pilates group practice! Whether you are just learning the details of Pilates equipment work or are looking to get back into a practice after time away, this is a great way to do it! Level 1 groups are open to students with some Pilates experience, who are willing to commit to a ongoing schedule. You’ll practice the fundamentals and essential Pilates exercises using the Reformer, Wall Unit and Chair, each week building on previous lessons. Because the group is limited in size (max 5), you’ll get individualized attention. You’ll increase your awareness and ability, with a noticeable carry-over into how you approach your everyday life. As the group progresses, more advanced exercises will be introduced and practiced. You’ll be able to continue in the current group and/or join another level 1 or 2 group to expand your weekly practice. This is a great option after taking Equipment Essentials workshop or completing your Welcome Package!

Passing the TorchJanuary 2012 - November 2012

We're excited to announce Tom McCook's "Passing the Torch" mentorship program with Balanced Body! This program showcases Master Pilates instructors who help shape the next generation of leaders in the Pilates community.

Passing the Torch™ is designed for Pilates instructors who have been teaching Pilates for a minimum of 3 years and long for a deepening of their work through a mentorship program with a master teacher.

REFORMER 2 includes intermediate exercises and modifications designed for group and individual instruction. Teaching successful classes and sessions to clients at different levels of ability is emphasized. Included are a variety of programs designed to keep your clients inspired.

Embodying a Balanced Life with Tom McCook

Using movement and meditation as a foundation to get focused and present, we'll look at what it means to be balanced in our individual lives. We'll look at the specific areas of work, play, inspiration and body care and the importance of establishing a personal plan in these areas every week. We will take time each week to identify ways to create freedom and to experience momentum in our lives. We'll learn how to ask for what we want and need in order to move through life with more balance, freedom, clarity and grace. The format includes movement, meditation and coaching. Movement practices will incorporate Franklin Method, Pilates, Yoga, Resistance Stretching. Requires a 3 month commitment.
