Welcome! At Center of Balance, we are here to help you develop your practice and reach your goals. Our exercise programs completely engage your body and mind while restoring healthy movement!
People who train at Center of Balance include working professionals who want to use their time efficiently to reduce stress and keep fit, people recuperating from injuries, elite athletes training for events, dancers and performers maintaining healthy movement quality, young people who are just beginning a fitness regime, and older adults who want a safe way to keep their bones strong and bodies flexible.
If you are a newcomer, we have several options for you:
For new students, we recommend scheduling an Initial Session for assessment, guidance and learning. Our skilled instructors will address your goals and needs while introducing you to the exercise techniques we offer. You’ll get a good sense of the work and have a clear direction for moving forward.
To get started with an Initial Session, please call the studio at (650) 967-6414.
Ultimately doing a few privates with one of our instructors is the best way to develop a personal practice. Based on your goals, issues or injuries, we will tailor sessions specifically to you, and help you figure out a course of training. Our Welcome Packages offer a good discount on our services to jumpstart your program!

After you've taken some privates, you can continue with private instruction and/or move into an ongoing group with instructor approval. Because we organize groups based on students' compatible level of understanding and fitness, we'd assess the next best step after you've been coming in a few times.
More about our Group Sessions & scheduleMat classes are a great option for a solid workout and a safe, effective way to become more fit and flexible. Our mat classes help you maintain a consistent movement practice with our convenient lunchtime, evening and Saturday morning schedule. All of our classes are drop-in and open to all levels — no appointment needed! Instructors offer modifications for those who are beginning and variations for more advanced students. In this way, we can have all levels in class. If you have any injuries or movement limitations, we highly recommend taking private sessions for assessment and guidance before taking mat class.
More about our Mat Classes & schedule
In addition to privates, groups and mat classes, we offer introductory workshops and 5-week intensives throughout the year. They are designed to teach you fundamental exercises and help you make key connections in your body for an improved movement experience in your sessions. You’ll develop a deeper understanding of proper body mechanics, alignment, breathing, and core activation, which is relevant to virtually every activity you do!
