Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties is a private non-profit organization that collects and distributes more than 30 million pounds of food each year to low-income children, adults and seniors. The Food Bank currently serves an average of 162,000 individuals each month; nearly 60% are families with dependent children.

For the Second Harvest Food Bank, providing food is about more than sustenance. They deliver dignity, encourage good stewardship of our resources and help people maintain their health. Second Harvest, and the people they serve, depend on the generous donations of canned, boxed and bagged food that they receive from committed donors. Because they emphasize nutrition, they supplement their food donations with purchases of fruits, vegetables and protein rich meats.

Second Harvest can leverage each dollar received better then the average consumer thanks to their deep relationships with growers and food suppliers. And a gift to Second Harvest extends far beyond our warehouse walls to the more than 700 non-profit agencies and distribution centers in the Bay Area.
